~Even When You Don’t Feel like Standing,Still Stand~

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.-Ephesians 6:13-KJV

Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].-Ephesians 6:13 -Amplified Bible

~Poet’s Corner- Elizabeth Barret Browning~

Today, I’m going to try to do a post about one of my favorite woman poets, Elizabeth Barret Browning!!

She had a very interesting life story. I haven’t read all her poems but when I read Nancy Moser’s book, “How Do I love Thee”, it introduced me to her “Sonnets from the Portuguese” which I really enjoyed.

I really love Nancy Moser’s book about her life story it’s a really great read. I love how she mixes fact with fiction.  I was surprised as to how much was really fact. I hope you enjoy her poetry down below!

How Do I Love Thee?

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath,

Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

SPEAK low to me, my Saviour, low and sweet
From out the hallelujahs, sweet and low
Lest I should fear and fall, and miss Thee so
Who art not missed by any that entreat.
Speak to mo as to Mary at thy feet !
And if no precious gums my hands bestow,
Let my tears drop like amber while I go
In reach of thy divinest voice complete
In humanest affection — thus, in sooth,
To lose the sense of losing. As a child,
Whose song-bird seeks the wood for evermore
Is sung to in its stead by mother’s mouth
Till, sinking on her breast, love-reconciled,
He sleeps the faster that he wept before.

WE overstate the ills of life, and take
Imagination (given us to bring down
The choirs of singing angels overshone
By God’s clear glory) down our earth to rake
The dismal snows instead, flake following flake,
To cover all the corn; we walk upon
The shadow of hills across a level thrown,
And pant like climbers: near the alder brake
We sigh so loud, the nightingale within
Refuses to sing loud, as else she would.
O brothers, let us leave the shame and sin
Of taking vainly, in a plaintive mood,
The holy name of GRIEF !–holy herein
That by the grief of ONE came all our good.

Elizabeth Barrett Browning
How Do I Love Thee? (Ladies of History #4)

XIV (If thou must love me, let it be for nought)

If thou must love me, let it be for nought
Except for love’s sake only. Do not say
“I love her for her smile–her look–her way
Of speaking gently,–for a trick of thought
That falls in well with mine, and certes brought
A sense of ease on such a day–”
For these things in themselves, Beloved, may
Be changed, or change for thee,–and love, so wrought,
May be unwrought so. Neither love me for
Thine own dear pity’s wiping my cheek dry,–
A creature might forget to weep, who bore
Thy comfort long, and lose thy love thereby!
But love me for love’s sake, that evermore
Thou may’st love on, through love’s eternity.

“God’s gifts put man’s best dreams to shame.”

Tried and True Recipe!~Hot Chocolate~(With a Twist!)

Wintertime! It’s the time for all things hot and warming! I just discovered this quick and delicious recipe only a few days ago and it is soooo  good! Also this recipe can vary. You can always add your own little twist. I have never tried to make cocoa from scratch. I’ve always made cocoa with those cocoa packets you can buy from the store, but it always seemed as if I couldn’t get it to taste just right most of the time so I wasn’t a big cocoa fan until now!  Okay here it goes:

~Hot Chocolate Recipe -With a Twist~

1 cup of chocolate milk

1-2  spoonfuls of  Sugar

1 dab of Whipped Cream (or as much as you like! You can never have a lot of whipped cream!)

That’s pretty much it. You can warm up the chocolate milk for about 2 minutes in the microwave or however you prefer  until it’s hot. Then add the rest of the ingredients. Like I said you can always vary.

A very warm, comforting, delicious treat for the wintertime!

Enjoy! 🙂

Encouraging Bible Scriptures

Isaiah 40:31~They that wait on the LORD~

This scripture really encouraged me this week. Oh my goodness. It was if God was trying to hammer this in my spirit all this week because I kept hearing this scripture everywhere and it just kept coming back. So I thought that I would share it you all.  What ever you are going trough just remember to wait on Him because He’s more than able to accomplish His Word.

Also about the ” A Psalm in My Heart Fridays”  it  will have to sadly come to an end. I hope it was a blessing, but with my current  schedule, I’m not always able to post on every Friday. So I’ve decided to either post a Psalm or other encouraging scriptures on different days.   As I leave you,

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.-Isaiah 40:31 ~KJV~

But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.- Isaiah 40: 31 ~Amplified Bible~

Christian Fiction, Updates

Special Update!!

Hi everyone!  I just wanted to give everybody a quick update on what I’m going to be doing for the blog and so forth. Well, I do have big plans and I hope to enforce them in the coming weeks. Also, my fellow bloggers, you may have wondered why I have “followed” you again. You may be saying, that crazy girl! lol. I’m not crazy, not yet anyways. lol. 🙂  But I had found out I had followed too many blogs and everything was just so unorganized in my email inbox!  Now everything is back to normal.

Well, I have been reading some good books and I’ve watched some awesome movies!

What I’m reading now,

Sense and Sensibility (Penguin Classics) Above All Earthly Powers (Songs in the Night Series, Book 3)

I love reading Jack Cavanaugh! He has a talented way of telling a story. I never know if a certain character will get killed off or something. He’s very good at having an element of surprise in his stories. Something I really admire because if something always went the same way, we’d have very boring books.

Also this is my first time really reading Sense and Sensibility. My friend said that it was a good book so I decided to re-read it. I didn’t understand the Jane Austen language but now I think I can finally understand!  I LOVE watching the movie with Emma Thompson!  I’m enjoying reading it so far. I do have a question in my mind about Mr.Willoughby though. Are we suppose to like this certain character? I’m thinking that he did love  Marianne Dashwood but I’ve always thought that the reason why he didn’t marry her was because he needed social standing and all that. What do you think? Maybe I should read the whole book.

Awesome Movies I’ve watched and enjoyed!

Oh my goodness! “Cranford “was so funny and so was “Frozen”! Olaf is my favorite character by the way.

“When Calls the Heart” went beyond my expectations! I can’t wait for the upcoming series!

What I’m watching now,

Return to Cranford!!!

Bye for now. 🙂
