Jane Austen~A Lady Who Believed in Happily Ever Afters!~

  Jane Austen–  Born on December 16 December 1775.~ Birthplace: Steventon Rectory,Hampshire,England~

  Her parents were George and Cassandra Austen. Jane Austen had 6 brothers and one sister also known as her closest friend,Cassandra.

Jane Austen was truly a lady who believed in happily ever afters and as far as I can see she wouldn’t take less than that. Something that is very admirable.  She always believed in true love  no matter what the cost would be. She believed that true love should always and would prevail. A belief commonly expressed in her many loved novels. Of course that belief wasn’t the popular way for  young women to be thinking  back then because back in the times of Jane Austen, if you weren’t married you didn’t have a chance of making a good way in life because the women were mostly expected to bear and raise children. Not being married  at a certain age

meant that you were an old maid or you were pretty much on way of being in impoverished if you were not a part of a rich family. Men in those times had a greater chance at succeeding  in life because more pathways in life were opened to them. Men also had more opportunities to gain a profitable  and sustainable income.

Jane Austen blew many people’s minds away with the idea of love conquering all no matter how unequal a hero or heroine might have been in the story. No matter how it seemed as if all was lost for the main characters she always managed to bring about a *sigh* worthy happy ending. Which is why I love  her quote above which says,

   “My characters shall have after a little trouble, all that they desire”-Jane Austen.

I think she did a very good job doing just that!  Jane Austen also did a very good job of giving us a glimpse of what regency life was all about.Whether it was the speech or describing manners of how some things were done. I would so love to go to England to see the many places in her novels! Her novels have been an inspiration for many spin-off variations of her stories,movies,plays,etc.

Though sadly to say she didn’t experience the happy ending that she gave to so many of her characters in her own life. She and her sister Cassandra never married. Knowing that fact, I’m glad that she didn’t give up her dream of being a successful writer or we would have never experienced knowing the stories of her many characters in her novels, or enjoyed the vast variety of movies based off of her books today. She is truly an inspiration to me.

Austen followed the tradition of other female novelists of the time by signing her books, ‘By a Lady,’ or ‘By Lady A.’.

~WHY I LOVE AND ADMIRE JANE AUSTEN~

I was very young when I first discovered Jane Austen and then I didn’t understand the language the regency and their ways. Let’s just say I’m

just now discovering the light! lol! It all started with watching all of the Jane Austen based movies I could find. After that, I decided to read Pride and Prejudice which has now become one of my favorite books by Jane Austen along with her book,Persuasion. I do aim to read more of her works but what I have read so far I have enjoyed!

I do admire Jane Austen’s books because even though the main characters suffer through many calamities  throughout the story,she still managed to give her characters that happily ever after. Many of her heroines are so easy to relate to and the heroes are to die for! I wish all the time for her heroes to be real!

                                                                                        ~JANE AUSTEN’S HEROINES~

I just love reading about Jane Austen’s heroines! Also watching the movies based off of her heroines. Many of her heroines were not perfect in their character in the beginning but in the end they were just became spectacular! Beyond words! Jane Austen just knew how to do it! Like in Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth Bennet she and Mr. Darcy were not getting along at all and in the end both Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy were two completely different people and it turned out to be very good thing!

It is so hard to pick a favorite from Jane Austen’s heroines, I love  the characters of Elizabeth Bennet,Jane Bennet, and I absolutely love Marianne Dashwood,Elinor Dashwood, Anne Elliot oh and Catherine Morland! (Which is just about all of them lol!) Maybe I’ll truly make up my mind when I’ve read all of Jane Austen’s novels. Oh bother!

I had read Sense and Sensibility this year, and to me Marianne Dashwood’s story reminds me so much of what  Jane Austen went through in her life so far as her disappointment with Daniel Lefroy.

I admire her heroines because they have their standards and morals and they wouldn’t stand for just anything.Which I think would have  probably given us some insight about Jane Austen’s character Like for example, Elizabeth Bennet wanted her marriage to be one of love which was very rare back then because everything depended on status and how much money you had in the bank or would inherit. Character and love for a marriage was the  last thing on the list. That very thing would probably give us some insight about Jane Austen’s character.

With Jane Austen, it was ALL about the character!! How the character acted and what their opinions were. I love how Jane Austen’s characters had  so much depth of character. Many of heroines were not perfect in the beginning in their character. They had their flaws and mistakes and  I like to see the transitions of a certain heroine or hero in the story and in the end they were just perfect!  Jane Austen just tried to drive this point home, “always judge and watch a person’s character before marriage”. I think that was a punchline in her books. It didn’t matter whether they were rich or poor but that person’s character is what mattered the most. Which is what we as Christians should still keep in mind today especially young singles. It’s not about how many muscles he has  or how good-looking a young man is it’s all about the character. The important thing is does he have the character of Jesus Christ? Likewise for us young ladies. 🙂

                                           ~JANE AUSTEN’S MOVIES THAT I HAVE WATCHED~

Since I never could understand the language of Jane Austen’s novels until I grew older, I watched almost every single movie based off of Jane Austen’s novels. Many of them I still watch over and over again! I believe that sometimes the movie can bring to  light some of the things Jane Austen talks about in her novels. Like for me being in America, I wouldn’t know half of the things that she was talking about because our worlds are so different.! So let’s talk about Jane Austen! What is your favorite Jane Austen book or movie? I’ll try to talk about my favorite books,characters and movies down  below!  So I love the movies even though some may have some differences than in the novel. Here’s a list of movies that I’ve watched and enjoyed,

I’ve also watched some of the variations of Jane Austen’s  movies. Especially the Indian variations! They are different I warn you but the Bollywood versions have somethings in common with Jane Austen’s novels because girls and women in those countries still go through many of the situations that Jane Austen wrote about. But again if want the movie to be true to Jane Austen then you should stick to the other ones. 🙂 Which I do now. I watched Bride and Prejudice a long time ago.

Also I’ve Watched Becoming Jane the movie based off of Jane Austen’s life. Very interesting. 🙂

Just recently finished watching the movie! Well most of it and I really,really enjoyed it! I loved this quote! I’m reading the book now!

I love Jane Austen’s comedy and wit! I think the most comical of her characters is Mr. Collins he is so hilarious in both the book and the movies! Especially  the time when he proposed to Elizabeth Bennet! lol.

Also, ever since recently reading Sense and Sensibility, the characters of Mrs.Palmer and her  husband Thomas were very hilarious! I really loved how she combined comedy into her stories. I find myself laughing out loud many times when reading her novels!

She knew how to have that balance where she wrote about the most lovable characters and the other ones you just despised! Like Anne Elliot’s sister and father in Persuasion. Oh they got on my last nerve!  Also in Emma, the preacher in his wife! I won’t begin to explain how annoyed I was! What are some of her characters you just loved and disliked?

  ~JANE AUSTEN’S HEROES~

Jane Austen’s heroes have been my book crushes like since I’ve read them! Mr.Darcy anyone? My favorite heroes, are Mr.Darcy, Mr.Knightly, Colonel Brandon, Captain Wentworth, and Henry Tilney. (Of course I haven’t read all of her books just yet but I have watched the movies for the books I haven’t read) I’m glad that she gave a voice to what the hero would think about certain situations. I think Edward Ferrars is the only hero as far as I know that didn’t really talk in the story. I liked Colonel Brandon better than Edward Ferrars  in Sense and Sensibility.  It is my opinion that the hero should talk and have the depth of character just as much as the heroine. Otherwise how am I supposed to like him in the story? Mr. Darcy and Captain Wentworth are the perfect examples of what a hero should be in a book. I do  think that Jane Austen’s heroes  are quoted just  as much as the heroines. She did know how to put feeling into a proposal! Oh my goodness! Read Pride and Prejudice with Mr. Darcy’s proposal and you’ll fall head over heels in love with Mr. Darcy  and his proposal! lol! WHY ISN”T MR. DARCY REAL!! lol!

Just for the record I loved the other Edward better in the Sense and Sensibility (1995) with Emma Thompson. Just sayin’ 🙂

I’ve  only read four novels by Jane Austen so far and I can’t wait to finish reading the rest!
