~My Review~

A Reluctant Bride~ Jody Hedlund~
I had stopped reading Jody Hedlund’s books for a while because I felt that her books were getting a little too mushy for Christian Fiction in my opinion.
It’s just my preference that when I read Christian Fiction I expect to see a hugh difference between secular fiction and Christian novels.

I love, love bride of convenience stories. I think what introduced me to those kind of stories is when I first read Love Comes Softly by Janette Oke. I have loved marriage of convenience stories ever since.
I cannot wait to read more marriage of convenience stories in Jody Hedlund’s book series.

I actually did love reading this book! I was intrigued with the drama and everything from page one til the end.

It was just amazing to see how many women back then were in poverty and marriage was pretty much the only decent way out unless you had been born into money or inherited it. I think that the
author did a good job of drawing a picture of what that situation would look like.

I liked both main characters. They were awesome! Especially the main lady character, Mercy. She was so loving and caring that is was heart wrenching. I highly recommend
reading this book if you love reading marriage of convenience stories. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

Until Mountains Fall~Connilyn Cossette

Until the Mountains Fall (Cities of Refuge, #3)

~Synopsis~

Recently widowed, Rivkah refuses to submit to the Torah law compelling her to marry her husband’s brother and instead flees Kedesh, hoping to use her talents as a scribe to support herself. Without the protections of her father, Kedesh’s head priest, and the safety of the city of refuge, Rivkah soon discovers that the cost of recklessness is her own freedom.

Malakhi has secretly loved Rivkah for years, but he never imagined his older brother’s death would mean wedding her himself. After her disappearance, he throws himself into the ongoing fight against the Canaanites instead of dwelling on all he has lost. But with impending war looming over Israel, Rivkah’s father comes to Malakhi with an impossible request.

As the enemies that Rivkah and Malakhi face from without and within Israel grow more threatening each day, is it too late for the restoration their wounded souls seek?

~My Review~

I just love reading Biblical fiction! Whenever I can get some time to read some I’ll read it. In my opinion, Connilyn Cossette is one of the rising stars of Biblical fiction and I have
several Biblical fiction authors’ books that I love reading.
To me, I think this is the best representation of the levirate law in Biblical fiction that I have read so far.

This story really gives an insight on what a situation would have been to bring a person into a city of refuge. I like how the author uses her imagination in this novel it was
really refreshing.

This novel really drew me in and I was captivated by each and every page.

I also liked how the author divided up the story between the main character and her love interest.

The book cover is absolutely stunning! It’s probably one of the things that drew me to reading this book. I just love beautiful book covers!

I can’t wait to read the next book in this series! I highly recommend this book for those who love to read Biblical Fiction.

Yours Truly, Thomas~Rachel Fordham

Yours Truly, Thomas

~Synopsis~

For three years, Penny Ercanbeck has been opening other people’s mail. Dead ends are a reality for clerks at the Dead Letter Office. Still she dreams of something more–a bit of intrigue, a taste of romance, or at least a touch less loneliness. When a letter from a brokenhearted man to his one true love falls into her hands, Penny seizes this chance to do something heroic. It becomes her mission to place this lost letter into the hands of its intended recipient.

Thomas left his former life with no intention of ending up in Azure Springs, Iowa. He certainly didn’t expect a happy ending after what he had done. All he wanted to do was run and never look back. In a moment of desperation, he began to write, never really expecting a reply.

When Penny’s undertaking leads her to the intriguing man who touched her soul with his words, everything grows more complicated. She wants to find the rightful owner of the letter and yet she finds herself caring–perhaps too much–for the one who wrote it.

Yours Truly, Thomas~Rachel Fordham

This was one of the best books I had read last year. It was very entertaining and I read it in about one sitting!

I had read one of the the first books by this author and I wasn’t really a fan the first time around. This story however was the complete opposite. I fell in love with this book from the
very first page. That’s why I always try to give an author at least 2 chances before I can decide if I’m going to continue reading their books or not.

This book was very lively, witty, and romantic.

As for the letters, I really loved them! Sometimes it’s my preference to not read a book mostly composed of letters. I’m an action type of girl. 😉
This novel was definitely the exception for sure! It was awesome!

The main character Penny was just a lovely and wonderful character.

I really loved reading this book and I highly recommend this book to anyone who’s looking for a good read. It was a lovely and wonderful book. Also the book cover is just beautiful!

~My Review~

I had been meaning to read a book written by this author for a while before I read, “Finding Lady Enderly”.

I’ve had her books on my TBR list for the longest.
For me, I think that this author was a breath of fresh air and reading her novel made me want to finish this books as fast as I possibly could. This was a very exciting read.
Every now and again I can get into a reading slump and just reading a new book really helped me.

This story definitely drew me in from the very first page.

I loved the main character Raina. She was a wonderful character and I felt that I could really indentify with her.

Any novel that has a Jane Austenish (If I could call it that! lol) I’m head over heels ready to devour it!

I loved how the author included little snippets of quotes before each chapter began. I think it added a very nice touch to the book.

I especially loved this quote from the book,”Blessed are those who hand God the reins, for they shall find adventures.”

I thought that this novel was a well rounded book filled with my three favorite things to read about, faith, romance, and adventure. I highly recommend this book and I can’t
wait to see what else this author has in store.

~My Review~

I just loved, loved the book cover when it first came out! I was mesmerized as usual when it comes to Elizabeth Camden’s books and I hadn’t even read it at the time.

It was absolutely stunning!

I was very intrigued reading about the different spices and how the main character traveled the world to explore and acquire the many different spices we
take for granted today. It was amazing!

I also really liked how this novel gave us a glimpse of the different jobs that women worked hard to earn respect in way back when.

I also thought it was sweet to read the camaraderie between the siblings. It was funny and charming to read about.

I think it’s a brilliant story and I think all of Elizabeth Camden’s novels are just incredible to read. I’m always waiting to read any of her upcoming books. She’s awesome!

I also can’t wait to read Luke’s story I feel that his story will be a very interesting one. I highly recommend this book and series. I’m ready to start the next book after this,
“A Glided Lady” I cannot wait!
