Wings of the Wind (Out from Egypt #3)

~Synopsis~

Alanah, a Canaanite, is no stranger to fighting and survival. When her family is killed in battle with the Hebrews, she disguises herself and sneaks onto the battlefield to avenge her family. The one thing she never counted on was surviving.
Tobiah, a Hebrew warrior, is shocked to find an unconscious, wounded woman among the Canaanite casualties. Compelled to bring her to a Hebrew healer back at their camp, he is soon confronted with a truth he can’t ignore: the only way to protect this enemy is to marry her.
Unused to being weak and vulnerable, Alanah submits to the marriage—for now. As she comes to know and respect Tobiah and his people, however, she begins to second-guess her plans of escape. But when her past has painfully unanticipated consequences, the tentative peace she’s found with Tobiah, the Hebrews, and Yahweh is shaken to the core. Can Alanah’s fierce heart and strength withstand the ensuing threats to her life and all she’s come to love?

~My Review~

WOW!! Can I just say that my review of this book will not do justice on how much I enjoyed and loved reading this novel! I read it in about an hour or so which is quick for me unless I’m really engrossed in a book it could take me a while to really get into a book. This book was the exception!! I’m really amazed at how this author can hit a home run three times straight especially with a series! I was amazed at how well the writing and the characters really ran together with harmony and I wish that this book didn’t have to end.

I’m always for a strong female lead character. Which is why I LOVE Mulan so much! Anyway, I loved Alanah’s character I thought she had various qualities that I love reading about. I just loved joining in on the journey and reading about how the character discovered herself and God in such a beautiful redeeming way. I LOVED it!

I also loved how the author embraced another phenomenal character in the Bible in this novel.  I’m very picky when it comes to Biblical fiction because hey I can be when it comes to my WORD! I 100% promote this author’s writing! Not only am I enjoying a well thought out and planned novel but I’m swept away by the adventure, romance, and faith she weaves into her novels which is always a BIG plus for me! If you’re looking for something new and exciting or you love Biblical fiction then this is definitely the book for you!

~My Review~

Wow! Just wow! I fell in LOVE with Elizabeth Camden’s writing all over again.(I know I might say that just about every book that I’ve read by her but I can’t help myself.) I usually have her books on pre-order or whatever way I can find to get my hands on a copy of her books. I’m a fan of her novels and if you haven’t read any of her writing. I highly recommend her writing!

Anyway, about the book. I was so happy and thrilled that the author really went to another level!!
At first I was really worried that I wouldn’t like the main heroine in this story but I’m so glad to have had went on the journey with the heroine to see her ups and downs in the story.
I really loved the different culture that the author added in the story. It was a step in a the right direction I thought to include more diversity in Christian Fiction novels.
The story itself was touching and I devoured every last page. I can’t wait for her next book to come out!
The hero,Ryan, was dreamy!! Swoon. There are only a select few in my opinion that are swoon worthy heroes. Number one swoon worthy hero of the year. Yay! Check. lol.
The story flowed and it had meaning in every page. I loved the writing and I give this book 4.5 stars. 🙂

Here’s the cover for her next book,

 ~My Book Review~

Well, well, well I haven’t enjoyed a book so much for a very long time. This was a heart wrenching and moving story to read. It was a bundle of life, romance, and adventure rolled up into one.

To me the writing itself flowed and had a wonderful way of capturing my undivided attention.

I must say that when I saw the book cover I was blown away. I do have a weak spot for beautiful book covers. It’s beautiful!

Both main characters pulled at my heart-strings for sure and I thought that their characters were very well thought out.

If you love Downton Abbey and that period, then you’ll definitely love reading this novel.

I highly recommend this book! I was drawn to read it into the wee hours of the morning. This is probably one of the best books I’ve read so far for this year. Awesome!

An Uncommon Courtship (Hawthorne House, #3)

~Synopsis~

When her mother’s ill-conceived marriage trap goes awry, Lady Adelaide Bell unwittingly finds herself bound to a stranger who ignores her. Lord Trent Hawthorne, who had grand plans to marry for love, is even less pleased with the match. Can they set aside their first impressions before any chance of love is lost?

~My Review~

I can NEVER put enough emphasis on how much I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE marriage of convenience stories! I LOVE and adore marriage of convenience stories and they’ll always have a special place in my heart. So when I saw this book and read the plot, I knew I had to read it right away!

This book started out very well and it kept me up reading late into the night. I love when a book has that ability to just lift me up and take me to the place of wonder. *sigh* I loved reading about the different incidents that unfolded following the main character, Lady Adelaide and I really liked her character in the story.

The hero was ok but I wish there was “more” to him as far as concerning his character.
I really enjoyed reading this author’s the first book,” A Noble Masquerade” so I’m determined to read the rest of her series. Although this was s good book I can say it wasn’t my favorite in the series. It did have its ups and downs.
This book was full of intriguing romance and adventure something that’s always a plus in my book. 😉
I highly recommend Kristi Ann Hunter’s books. I can’t wait for more of her upcoming books.

My List of Best Read Books for 2016!

Hello Ladies and Gents! It’s another year and by God’s grace I’m looking forward to bigger and greater things this year! I’m kinda disappointed in my list of books I read in 2016. I think 2016 was  a very strange year for me in more ways than one. I usually finish my Goodreads challenge before the year is out but not last year unfortunately. Hopefully this year I can do way better than last year. So without further ado, here’s my list of the best books I read in 2016. I had planned to read 80 books in 2016 but only finished 18 books. It’s a far cry I know. lol. I’m very positive about this year though. Hopefully I’ll have my post up soon about the books I’m looking forward to reading in 2017. See y’all soon. Peace! 🙂

In the Depth of the Storm’s Shadow, Only Truth Can Light Her Way

Having escaped Egypt with the other Hebrews during the Exodus, Shira is now living in freedom at the foot of Mt. Sinai, upon which rests the fiery glowing Cloud containing the shekinah glory of God. When the people disobey Yahweh and build a golden idol, the ensuing chaos gives Shira an unexpected opportunity to learn the arts of midwifery. Although her mother wishes for her to continue in the family weaving trade, Shira’s gifts shine brightest when she assists with deliveries. In defiance of her mother, Shira pursues her heart’s calling to become an apprentice midwife.

When a delivery goes horribly wrong, Shira finds herself bound to a man who betrayed her, the caretaker of three young children, and the target of a vengeful woman whose husband was killed by Shira’s people, the Levites. As contention between the Hebrew tribes and the foreigners fans the flames of another dangerous rebellion, Shira will come face-to-face with the heartbreak of her past that she has kept hidden for so long. How can she let go of all that has defined her to accept the love she’s denied herself and embrace who she truly is?

~Review~

Wow! Just wow! I’m really loving this author’s writing! Being a debut author, her first book was a smashing first book with all the works. I’m so surprised and awed that her second book,”Shadow of the Storm” was just out of the ballpark!
To be honest, I had given up on Biblical fiction for a while now because a lot of novels in the Biblical fiction genre just really didn’t stand out.
Shadow of the Storm took me on an incredible and exciting journey. It kept me up all hours of the night until I had devoured every last page.
I thought that the main character Shira was a well thought out character. I loved the journey that the author provided concerning the main character because I as a reader felt the joy and sadness of her life story in every page.
I thought that the novel was really thought out. It also gave some insight into what the Bible meant that it was a mixed multitude that came out of Egypt . This novel is a wonderful mixture of faith, drama and romance rolled into one spectacular novel. I highly recommend this novel!
